June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month: Let’s Keep the Conversation Going
Each June, we observe Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia—and to encourage action through education, early detection, and support.
As your trusted health insurance broker, I’m here to do more than help you compare premiums and plans. I’m here to help you prepare for life’s uncertainties, including those that affect the people and families we care about most.
🧠 What is Alzheimer’s?
Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, impacting memory, thinking, and behavior. Over time, it interferes with daily tasks and can deeply affect relationships and quality of life. While there is currently no cure, early diagnosis and care planning can make a significant difference.
💜 What You Can Do This Month:
1. Learn the Early Signs
Memory loss, confusion, difficulty with words, or changes in mood may be early indicators. The sooner you recognize them, the sooner help can be found.
2. Encourage Brain Health
Exercise, mental stimulation, healthy sleep, and balanced nutrition all support long-term cognitive function.
3. Check in on Loved Ones
If you have aging parents, grandparents, or neighbors, now is a great time to have a compassionate conversation and ask how they’re doing.
4. Review Your Insurance Options
Long-term care and memory-related conditions often come with unexpected costs. I can help you explore supplemental policies, Medicare Advantage, or other plans that may help cover future needs.
🧩 You’re Not Alone
If you or someone you love is navigating the challenges of Alzheimer’s or dementia, please know that you don’t have to face it alone. Support groups, education programs, and community services are available—and so am I.
Let’s work together to plan ahead and provide peace of mind for the road ahead.
